Lord of the Rings: The Third Age is brought to you by EA Games.
We had high hopes for this game. The other Lord of the Rings games, just like the movies, got better with each new release
so we pretty much figured this game would rock our worlds. How wrong we were.
Mike had the wrong idea that the game was more of a Rome Total War type. It's not, this is an Role Playing Game. You
many different people in your party and you walk around searching for your goal whilst battling Orcs or other monsterous creatures.
This game is a cross between the previous LOTR games and Final Fantasy. The exception is that the Final Fantasy makers
have had years to put together an awesome RPG legacy and this attempt at that same greatness has fallen very short.
The scenes inbetween drag on forever and so do the fight scenes. I couldn't find an option to cut the time down by not
doing some stupid little weapon toss as the end of the fight. From the walking, the graphics, the enviroment and the gameplay
it was just too cookie cutter for my taste. Plus they didn't even have any kick ass Aeons like FF does.
I'm giving this a 5 and that's being generous because I like LOTR. I'm not pissed that I rented it but I did forget I
had it and lost interest by the second day.
